Common controls
The D24S is equipped with common controls shared with all Vermeer drills, including auto carve and AutoDrill. Optional cab is available. These commonalities provide peace of mind by simplifying operations and optimizing training time.
Firestick® drill rod and V Rod Advantage
The D24S is compatible with Firestick® drill rod and V Rods, both being one piece forged that can handle high-torque drilling while offering a large inside diameter for superior drilling fluid flow.The add-a-rod feature allows the addition of a single rod at a time by using the rod loader arms. The steel composition of the rods allow for increased durability and flexibility. The tensile strength of the rods is designed to handle challenging jobs or bores. Efficient fluid flow helps reduce the risk of blockages and helps maintain drilling stability.
Open-top vise
Open-top vise helps improve visibility of the rod joints and drill rod connections from the operator station/cab as well as simplify vise dies exchange. The vise design is low to the ground, which minimizes rod exposure.
Plus+1 Control System
For precision and reliability, the control system in the D24S uses the Plus+1 control system. This drill also includes auto-carve and AutoDrill. Auto-carve automates certain drill head motions, helping you to set and adjust rotation duration and direction while maintaining a preset thrust pressure. This can help to get through hard ground conditions, which enables drilling consistency. To top it off, the updated console design helps provide a seamless, user-friendly bore path adjustment experience for the operator
Power-to-footprint
Compact footprint of just 6.14-m (20.1-ft) length and 2.26-m (7.4-ft) transport width. Paired with a low (setting) torque of 4,200 ft-lb (5,695 Nm), it is suited for congested urban jobsites as it allows utility contractors to tackle jobs in tight spaces and challenging soil types.
Rubber pads on steel tracks
Rubber pads help reduce jobsite damage and minimize ground disruption on the jobsite. The use of replaceable rubber pads offers a balance between traction, ground protection, durability and versatility.
Wireless remote
The D24S comes with a wireless remote control for ease of use. A wireless remote can help you efficiently load and unload the drill, as well as provide exceptional 360-degree visibility during tracking. Enhances 360-degrees visibility and maneuverability while the machine is being moved.
